Malena Romero, or Rosie, is an undergraduate at Saint Mary’s College of California pursuing a degree in English with minors in Marketing and Creative Writing. Her work sits at the intersection of analysis and storytelling, combining critical thinking with a strong sense of voice and visual detail. Through her academic and professional experiences, she has developed skills in customer service, social media management, event planning, and administrative support.
My experience comes from a mix of customer service, creative work, and administrative roles across retail, hospitality, and campus settings. I’ve worked in positions where I’m constantly interacting with people, which has shaped how I communicate and respond to different audiences. At the same time, I’ve managed social media, helped maintain a website, planned events, and handled organizational tasks like budgeting and inventory. All of these roles have pushed me to balance creativity with structure and think about how things work both behind the scenes and in front of an audience.
Her portfolio reflects a range of interests, from literary analysis and film theory to creative writing that explores memory, identity, and transformation. She is particularly drawn to projects that merge narrative with strategy, using storytelling as a tool for communication and engagement.
